Skysource World Xu Hanxue: The core three electric vehicles toward the fifth process
2019-06-24

"Core components of the three-electrical systems will advance to the fifth major process for complete vehicles." This is the assessment made by Xu Hanyue, Deputy General Manager of Nanjing Skysource World Power Battery Division, at the 12th High-Technology Lithium Battery Industry Summit Forum.

The rationale behind this judgment is that core components, including high-performance power batteries, continue to be the primary obstacles restricting the industrial development of new energy vehicles (NEVs). In this context, it is essential for vehicle manufacturers to master the resources of the three-electrical systems to secure their position in the new round of competition in the NEV market.

"By aligning the layout of the three-electrical systems with the forward development of complete vehicles, manufacturers can achieve vertical integration of products. This allows for continuous improvement in vehicle performance and a reduction in vehicle costs, thereby meeting the ever-increasing customer demands and striving for an exceptional user experience." Based on this consideration, Kaiwo Automotive began preparing to establish Nanjing Skysource World as early as 2015 and has consistently emphasized and invested in the core three-electrical systems, including power battery systems. This focus has increasingly highlighted its differentiated advantages in competition with other domestic NEV companies.

On June 21, the 12th High-tech Lithium Battery Industry Summit Forum grandly opened at the Lingshi International Hotel in Bao'an, Shenzhen. The theme of this forum is "Strategies and Games Before Subsidy Phase-out." The conference is co-sponsored by Liyuanheng and gathers over 500 industry guests from various segments of the supply chain, including batteries, materials, equipment, and BMS, to deeply discuss the trends and transformations in the power battery industry for 2019.

Xu Hanxue, Deputy General Manager of Nanjing Skysource World Power Battery Division, delivered a keynote speech titled "Innovation Driven by Mission: Strategic Insights into AVA Automotive’s Three-Electric Layout."

Xu Hanyue believes that mastering the core "three electrics" (electric motor, battery, and electronic control) is of great significance for vehicle manufacturers in product development, market expansion, and establishing market competitiveness. From the perspective of industrial development trends, the production lines and processes of core components are continually evolving, and the core three electrics will enter the fifth major process of vehicle manufacturing.

At the same time, the market-oriented development of core three electrics requires innovations drawn from the traditional manufacturing procurement system, which should be integrated into the new energy vehicle industry. Based on the above judgments, Chuangyuan Tiandi is further increasing its layout and investment in the core three electrics field.

In the power battery business sector, Chuangyuan Tiandi aims to enhance product performance in the development of existing supporting products and to focus on the aftermarket battery replacement for electric buses this year.

Xu Hanyue explains that from 2014 to 2015, many new energy buses across the country faced the issue that their original batteries could not meet usage demands within their service life and needed battery and other accessory replacements to continue normal operations. In response, Skysource World plans to utilize its technical expertise accumulated in the fields of power battery systems, motors, electronic controls, and vehicle control to provide targeted technical matches and component replacements for those buses, allowing them to get back on the road.

In the motor and electronic control field,Skysource World has previously provided components for Skywell Automotive through component integration and has conducted targeted development and application of products such as integrated electronic control systems and VCU-BMS combined controllers. In 2019, it plans to begin selecting electronic components and carry out independent development and manufacturing starting from the component level, and it is expected that this business will open up to external clients by mid-year.

In terms of charging stations, building on its support for buses, special vehicles, and passenger cars, Skysource World will expand its charging station business, promoting integrated vehicle and charging station products and services.
